Thomas Doherty shot this nice Whitetail on Friday November 23, 2007. Tom was hunting in the Big White area, near Kelowna B.C.. This was the second buck that Tom rattled in that morning, he did not get a good look at the first buck. I have said to a few of my hunting partners, that I have heard of more Whitetails getting called in this year, than any other year in the past. It seems that everyone I have talked too this year has rattled in a Whitetail. Now I know that deer respond the best when there is a good buck to doe ratio in the area, so I can only assume that there is a high population of good bucks this year! That is good news, so any of you bowhunters, get out there and do some antler rattling, I know I will be.

Cliff Rousell of Winfield, British Columbia, shot this great 5×4 Whitetail the morning of November 23, 2007. I went to see this buck after Cliff shot it, the buck has great mass and tine length, this buck should gross near 145″.

This split brow-tine Whitetail picture was sent to me as well, the hunter is unknown, but the buck was taken in the Beaverdell area this November! Nice Buck!

The hunter who shot this Mule Deer Buck is also unknown, the deer was shot in the Vernon,B.C., area, nice deer!

Duane from Duncan British Columbia arrowed this very nice 4×3 Blacktail Buck! Hope everything thing is going well Duane, thanks for the pictures. It was nice to meet you all while hunting in the Kootenay’s this fall. I will email you this summer and see where you guys are going to be next September! Nice Blacktail!

Local hunter Don Siebert shot this nice Whitetail Buck while hunting in Alberta. Don was hunting with Ross and Dale Siebert. They also connected on a nice Coyote! Sounds like it was a great hunt, nice animals!

Check out this mule deer that 15 year old Justin Sanesh shot! This buck is 22″ wide and has great splits, and is nice and high. This buck will easily score in the 160-170 inch range! Justin was out hunting whitetails with his dad and brother near Lumby B.C., when they came across this big boy. They had just finished seeing a nice whitetail buck when they came around the corner and Justin’s dad spotted this buck about 20 feet over the bank, with 2 doe’s. The deer started to run and Justin made a nice shot, dropping the buck right in his tracks. Justin mentioned in his email to me that his dad is very proud of him, we all are Justin, that is a great first buck! Thank you for sending your pictures and story, good luck the rest of the season!

These two bucks were taken on November 15, 2007. Kim O’Reilly shot his buck (left) while sitting watching a rub and scrape line that he had laid down some scents on the night before. His buck stepped out of the tree’s about 10 yards away, so there was no missing this guy. Todd McKenzie (right 2 pics) shot his buck at about 11:30 am in the middle of a clear cut. Todd had sat down, in my ground blind, JERK, HaHa, and started to rattle, grunt, and rake some bushes. Only a few minutes went by and this buck came in on a string. Even though we are not having a good cold snow year, the bucks seem to be rutting hard. As you have seen on my blogs, Todd has had a great hunting season, he now hopes some of his luck will rub off on his hunting partner Jude, who hasn’t been as lucky. Don’t worry Jude, keep looking, they are out there.
