Were are back from Nebraska and it was a great trip!! On Nov.12, 2008 Shawn killed this nice, high, 4×4 Whitetail 7 yards from our tree stands. We rattled in this buck and I videotaped as Shawn hit him with an arrow from his Mathews Bow! We saw lots of bucks, and the country was beautiful! It would have been nice to be there with a rifle to reach out and touch a couple of the big boys we saw! Today, Nov.21, 2008, we decided to hunt for Whitetails near Lumby, British Columbia. Today was my only chance to chase deer with Shawn around home as we have been travelling lots. We spotted this nice 4×4 bedded on the hillside below us, we planned a stock, and shot him at about 70 yards. He was looking down the hill at a Doe and he never even knew we were there! We also found this nice Mule Deer shed antler right beside where this buck was bedded. The Mule deer winter in this area!

THE MULE DEER RUT HAS STARTED!!!
It is now November 2, 2008 and the Mule Deer rut is heating up! On Wednesday October 29 Jesse Smith and I were out for a morning hunt and Jesse shot this nice 5×4 Mule Deer! This buck was with a smaller buck and 10 Doe’s! We have been seeing plenty of doe’s but no bucks with them up until last Wednesday. Jesse lives in Saskatchewan and this was his first time hunting in BC, it was the last morning of our 6 day hunt!
Jeremy Schraeder and Lee Fenton shot these 2 nice Mule Deer on October 31, only five minutes apart! Lee is pictured with the smaller of the 2 bucks and that buck was by himself, but Jeremy’s buck was hot on a doe’s ass! It is great to here some of the doe’s are coming into heat, this next week should make for some great Mule Deer hunting!
