11 year old Quinn Komant of Winfield, British Columbia, had a great hunting season in 2008! In the spring he shot his first Turkey, and in the fall he shot his first 2 Deer! I feel sorry for the animals now that Quinn is hunting! Thanks for the pictures and the story Quinn, great job bud! Here is Quinn’s story of his season.
P.S. Keep out hunting your Dad, it looks good on him!!!
Hope you like my deer I got with my DAD this year Cory! My 2 point whitey was my first deer I have ever shot. We were driving up on our quad to our hunting spot when all of a sudden he was standing on the side of the trail we were driving on. I get off the quad aim very carefully and let a 1 round off and he dropped. We went to him and i got a good neck shot at about 70 yards. Then my 3 point muley was my second on the last day for junior hunting season and if i didn’t get him i wouldn’t of got my muley this year. We spent the whole after noon and morning up on the burn and only saw a couple does. Then we decided to go for 1 more walk until we leave and good thing we did. We went for a couple km loop then all of a sudden when we were heading back to the truck we see a deer jump and start running i was just about to take a running shot when he stopped and looked back! By now he was 200 yards away and i had nothing to rest against since i forgot my bi-pod in the truck so i took a standing shot and he dropped like a rock! When we went up to him i sure new he was bigger then my last 1 then i told my dad that i shot him in the neck but he didn’t believe so i showed him . I laughed to myself. those were my 2 deer i got this year and i would also like to thank u Cory for lending me the gun because if u didn’t i probably wouldn’t of got those 2 deer. THANKS ALOT! Now i tell u bout my turkey i got in the spring. I went to Castlegar to hunt turkeys with my grandpa and boy was it fun. We woke up at 5:00 and left for our hunt and right when we got there we went for about 1km walk when all these turkeys are going straight up a cliff. When they got to the top we decided to go to the top to so we did a loop because it would of been impossible for us to go up the cliff they went up. When we finally got to where we wanted to be we spotted them in a group. We had to do another loop but my dad stayed this time so he could film my kill. So off my grandpa and i went we did a 250 yard loop then i had to do the rest on my own. I walked a bit further then into some trees. i lined up but the position wasn’t right so i positioned again this time it was the perfect spot even no all the turkeys were staring at me. The one i had lined up in my sights gobbled then i fired and down he went! I was so proud of my self! My turkey weighed a total of 18 pounds which was a big and heavy turkey. P.S. that turkey was sure good on Thanksgiving!
That was my hunting season and once again Cory THANK YOU for letting me borrow your gun!!! I would also really like to thank my dad because if it wasnt for him getting me started on hunting i would of never gotten any of this so thanks DAD!!
