Hunting High TV

Here is a clip from our archery hunt from Sept. 1-5 2009, in the East Kootenay Region of Southern BC. Shawn’s 12 year old son Dakota made a great stock and shot on his first archery kill, and Robert got a great buck for his first cross bow kill! Shawn and his 8 year old Keenan, and me and my 8 year old Caleb got up close and personal with some elk, that was exciting! Happy hunting everyone, the 2009 season is finally here!

Shawn and I met and started this show in the spring of 2008. We hope to have the show on the air in 2010, and a DVD released by the end of 2009! A majority of our hunts are spot and stalk hunts that take place in the western regions of Canada and the United States! In our first year alone we were able to capture over 30 kill shots, and hunted a several diffent species ranging from free range  Aoudad in the mountains off the Rio Grande in West Texas, to Mountain Goats in the Rocky Mountains of British Columbia, and almost everything in between! Shawn and I live in South Central British Columbia and have the advantage of buying over the counter tags for Moose, Elk, Caribou, Mule Deer, Whitetail Deer, Blacktail Deer, Goats, Rocky Mountain Big Horn Sheep, Stone Sheep, Black Bears, Wolves, Coyotes, Cougars, Lynx, Bobcat,  Turkeys, and an abundance of other small game. Join Shawn and I as we bring you tips and techniques, laughs and excitement, in the way we spot and stalk the mountains and forests for most of North America’s Big Game!

Shawn and I had a great time down in Texas with our good buddies Seth and Mike. Seth and Mike were hunting free range Axis Deer in South Texas. We could not beleive the amount of Whitetail deer down there, it is definately everything you hear about South Texas! There were also alot of Axis deer, and they were just as spooky as the whitetails. With no closed season for axis deer they get hunted year round and do not like the sight of humans or vehicles! We had a hard time compressing the hours of great footage we shot down there but here is a 6.5 minute clip that sums up most of the hunt. On the last evening we had a couple hours to hunt for Blackbuck doe’s on the outfitters other lease, that was alot of fun as well! We were guided by Matt Smalley of  “Buck Brush Outfitters”. Sorry for the audio problems on our clip from the travel down to Texas, not sure what went wrong there, the rest of the hunt was in a cabin in the middle of no where so we did not have internet or cell service to keep the semi-live hunt up to date!

Here is a clip from our Nebraska whitetail deer hunt in November of 2008. Shawn and I had a great hunt and on the 4th day of a 5 day hunt Shawn arrowed this great 4×4 Whitetail. It is a little hard on the small screen to see the kill shot, but in hi-def on a TV it turns out great, can’t wait for this show to air!

Hi all!

     Rick Heidema from Armstrong, BC, sent us an email wondering if we wanted to try out a tree stand that he has developed. We went and picked up the stand and played around with it for a couple of weeks. This stand was easy to use, fast to set up, and very sturdy in the tree. It has lots of room to move around once up in the tree, and a very comfortable, removable, washable seat. This is a very practical and durable self climbing tree stand! We made this little video for Rick to help him promote his stand.
